The purse-seine fishery consists of encircling the fish (sardine, anchoveta, jack mackerel and mackerel mainly), locating the shoal or school of fish, determining course and speed, and then proceeding to enclose it, releasing the net with the panga (small motor), making a circle around the school and then enclosing it with the help of the panga, then closing the bottom of the net capturing the fishing. It uses a large network of 250 to 1000 meters in length and about 50 in width, which floats and when the fish passes it closes.

This type of fishing is done at night and at dawn you are already in port to sell the fish.

The fishing boat Rosa Maria Juarez is a traditional wooden boat built in Torrevieja and has been transferred by different generations of the Juarez family, always dedicated to fishing in the Mediterranean.
